Do you find it hard to raise issues for fear of an argument then resentment builds and things don’t get resolved?
Or are you both repeatedly feeling misunderstood and caught in a cycle where you feel unappreciated or criticised?
Has sexual intimacy become an issue between you?
Are you both struggling to connect better emotionally?
Do you need support after infidelity?
Are you getting caught in repeated arguments about who is right or wrong with a particular issue?
Do your rows escalate frustratingly to a place where neither of you feel heard?
Are you anxious about bringing up the subject of finances for fear of an argument?
Do you find yourself shutting down and feeling judged when your partner keeps talking about money?
It’s natural for couple relationships to be challenging at times. This can just be part of the ups-and-downs of being in relationship, but when difficulties seem overwhelming or you feel stuck, couples therapy will help you find your way through.
If you’ve tried and tried again to find resolution but you’re at an impasse, together we can navigate the challenges to help you find your way to a resolution that is right for you.
I’m Helen Mason, a fully qualified, registered and experienced couples therapist with additional training for online working. My registration is with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I’m a professional member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).
Depending on what you are wanting help with, I adapt my method to suit your particular needs.
Relational stresses can arise around Life Transitions such as Menopause, Mid-life crisis, Children leaving home and Retirement. I have experience supporting couples where issues have arisen at such times.
All sessions are confidential and are Weekly Online Sessions that last for 50 minutes. The Initial Online Session is a chance to find out if I’m the right therapist for you.
I have experience of working with couples from a range of sexual orientations, ages, ethnic backgrounds, spiritual and religious beliefs and with disability. I am inclusive in my approach and have worked with couples where there is a range of neurodiversity, including where one or both people have a diagnosis of ADHD. I welcome working with couples from different cultures and living in different countries.
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from couples therapy. I also work with couples who are in a very good place in their relationship and want to improve their communication or work through a particular issue to enable them to be in an even better place.
